I'll be doing a regular gallery cleanup soon. ^^ That means all deviations which links don't work anymore, will be deleted.

I also apologize for the delays in submitting deviations. But don't worry, I respond to every submission note so you know that your deviation will be submitted.

I added a new contest in this journal.

Please check it out, cause it looks pretty cool.
Which reminds me, there aren't many contests going on lately at all.
So I say, if you want your dragon contest advertised in this journal, you can always send me a note with all the details.

If it involves dragons, I'll be glad to put it in my journal. At least maybe it gets more participants. xD

Also, if you want your stamp advertised (must have a dragon) you can comment on the appropriate journal where the stamps are.

Oh and a BIG thank you to my friend *Drieka who bought a 3 month subscription to my club.

Firstly, the new one per three weeks submission rule is working nicely. ^^ And don't worry if you submit in the wrong week.

It happens and if you do, then I'll inform you when you can submit next.

No need to worry.

Still need to fix that folder problem in the club gallery.

I updated the rules a little, please read. ^^
You can become the weekly featured artist of course.

But I also added that you can advertise your dragon contests in the club main journal, your dragon tutorials in the tutorials section of the club journal (look on top).
And now comes the new feature.

Now members of the club can also advertise their dragon stamps in the club journal.

Remember, the stamp needs to have a dragon on it to be posted in the club journal.

I already took the liberty and added some of our members stamps in the journal.

If yours isn't there, just comment on the journal entry with a link to your stamp or send me a note with your stamp.

I'll see about posting it too.

CLUB CONTESTS

is holding a dragon contest.

You can enter max three pictures in the contest, you can use any medium you want and you need to draw at least one of her three dragons.

You can find the references in her journal

The prizes are really awesome, especially the first prize inlcuding a 3-D sculpture of your character.

The entry cut-off date is May 2nd so hurry up to join this contest.

The deadline is July 2nd. Have fun!

It's obvious what it's about by the name. It is similar to the "100 dragon project" and you can enter your own characters to be in set.

is taking commissions. It isn't strictly dragons, she'll draw anything you want.

They're pretty cheap, $15 for a full CG drawing and $5 for a quality sketch. ^^ All other details you can find in her journal

has put up a dragon contest.

The prizes are lotsa lotsa drawings.

Very interesting. The deadline may vary depending on the number of people who enter, but currently it is May 5th. Sounds like a nice contest worth checking out.

As the title says, here is a special journal section for MEMBERS STAMPS.

The stamp needs to have a dragon in it, preferably your dragon fursona or character.

But if someone else made a stamp for you and you're a member of the club, I can also post that stamp here even if the maker of the stamp isn't a member.

As long as the stamp is copyrighted to a club member. ^^

Feel free to comment on this journal if you want your stamp posted here as well.

And please don't forget the link to your stamp.

I hope people use your nice stamps!

Okey guys, ma friend =Red-Dragon-88 needs a bit help.

He needs a new CSS design for his journal. ^..^ Now he's making a contest out of it and the first three places get a prize. They go as follows:

1st place - three month subscription + free digital drawing

2nd place - free digital drawing

3rd place - free sketch
Of course, the 1st winner's CSS design will be used in his journal.

Now the deadline April 19th, so you gotta do it soon. As for more information about this, you can go and look at his journal

Okey, just a few things to inform you members. ^^

*THAZumi made me a watermark and I put it in the gallery.

Hopefully that will reduce the number of favs.

The gallery has some new folders now. ^^

The one deviation per three weeks has been implemented beginning this week. But the weekly feature will still stay each week, so now members have a greater chance of getting featured.

ISSUES RESOLVED

Okey, so the last journal comments and the poll decided what we're gonna do.

The gallery will be divided into several subcategries. There will be a 4 month categorization, so we'll have Jan-Apr, May-Aug, Sept-Dec of the years 2006, 2007 and 2008. I think that will make it easier to browse the gallery.

There are 139 really old deviations from 2006, which isn't that many since the club was created in September 2006, so only 3 months of submissions. They will be deleted as the majority of members in the club poll agreed on that.
Only one deviation from 2006 will be left and that one is the club ID.

Also, I'll be doing regular maintenance of the club gallery and I'll delete those deviations which links don't work anymore, cause the members deleted them from their own galleries. ^^

Since the poll also decided that I should delete the non colored and non shaded drawings, I will do that too.
That means I'll be putting a new rule. Drawings that aren't colored or shaded won't be accepted anymore. That means that drawings that don't have any texture details or shading, won't be accepted.
Now this doesn't mean I won't be accepting any traditional pencil drawings.

Traditional drawings, such as pencil or any other kind of traditional, will be accepted if they're shaded in any way. Also if a drawing like that has textures and details, it will also be accepted.

Some linearts might be accepted too.
Colored drawings, both digital and traditional, will of course be accepted. ^^

Now the most important thing!
How many submissions each member can submit?

The votes for one deviation per month and one per two weeks is a tie.

So a compromise to the new rule.

You can submit ONE deviation per three weeks.

This rule will greatly reduce the number of submissions and it will also make members submit their finest works.

So roughly, every 20 days you can submit one picture to the club gallery.
I hope this rule meets everyones needs. ^..^ It is in effect beginning next week btw.

As for the Weekly Feature, it will still remain a weekly event.

Though sometimes that may vary depending on how much time I have, but I'll try to put a new featured deviation every week.

This will give even more chance of getting featured to those members who still weren't featured in the past.

[OLD] CLUB GALLERY ISSUE - HELP PLEASE

You might have noticed that the club will soon reach 1000 deviations.

I knew this will happen one day, but in my opinion I think the gallery is too big for anyone to browse through it anymore. What do you think?

I have several proposals. Please tell me what you think would be best.

Make a new rule, a member can submit ONE deviation per two weeks. This would change the featured to be placed every two weeks too.

New rule, a member can submit ONE deviation per month.

I know this is a bit far fetched, but this would force members to submit only their BEST deviations, which would reduce the number of submissions of course. ^^

I can remove the really old deviations and the lower quality ones.

But I think that wouldn't sit too well to some members, with their deviations being deleted.

The last resort would be more rigid rules. Now this would mean that I won't be accepting deviations that aren't colored or shaded. Also, compared to the overall quality of the gallery, deviations with less quality will be refused.

I made this club so the "little" artists can be seen. ^^ But that has lead to the gallery being really really huge.

But I don't want the club gallery becoming "elite". *cough* BUT, I also don't want members to submit every sketchy, unfinished looking, quick drawing they made. =S I refuse those...

That's it mostly. Please tell me what you think.

I think the best would be one deviation per two weeks, or EVEN a month. ^^
Of course, if you have another idea that didn't occur to me, please do tell.

I'm open to any suggestions.

Oh and I don't want to do like some other clubs did, for example a monthly feature of submitted deviations in the JOURNAL. That I will not do.
Also monthly feature in the news section of DA is also out of the question.

I'll keep this journal here for a week, so till easter next week, by which time I will read and respond to all your comments and finally decide what shall we do. ^^
